Odyssey the essay- This illustrates (in the mind) a very detailed explanation of the life cycle.
Odyssey the presentation- A good way to look at the lifecycle in a visual way.
If I were teaching older(high school)kids, I might have them read the essay in small groups, discuss it and let them work together to draw their own illustration of the cycle story. I think it would help them make it real. My kindergarten class did a much simplified lifecycle of a seed. We based it on the book 'A Tiny Seed'. After reading the story and talking about it a few times, the kids drew their own seed journeys.
