Odyssey
The Oddyssey is like another dimension to the "Circle of Life." But it adds more to the story, not only are animals intertwined from birth to death but so too are all the non-animal things beneath the soil that we don't take notice of.
Someone else said the using a food-chain, food-wed idea would be helpful for students to understand X and I would have to agree, that would be a good place to start.

The biogeochemical cycle is so key to understanding earth systems but hard to conceptualize. A food web is a good introduction.
