After reading about biomes,they consist primarily of four main concepts. They include: community types, vegatation types, animal populations and soil types.
Temperate grassland biomes have very fertile soils and a rich mix of different grasses. Most of these types of grasslands are found in South Dakota because we have a strong background in agriculture.
In this area of South Dakota you are going to see mainly prairie land which consist of mixed types of grasses. On our adventure this next week I hope to learn more about these topics dealing with biomes. Last year talking about these topics were new and fun to learn about.

I really enjoy having a wide assortment of teaching assignments in the class as it integrates the curriculum and provides a holistic experience. I always look forward to seeing how the different content areas can use the class resources in their areas.
