1. Biomes are a specific type of habitat. These habitats are effected mainly by climate that effects what type of soil, vegetation, and animals it can support. Climate is effected by location on the globe, (close to equator ect.) Humidity, and even elevation.
2. The grasslands are a mix of grasses that grow in very organic fertile soil. These grasses have been compared to the savanna's in Africa. The grasses are located in a semi-arid area mid latitude.
Most of the precipitation in this area arrives as snowfall.
3. I have lived in the grasslands most of my life. I grew up in Colorado on the high plains where the types of grasses are a bit different depending on the location and elevation. I am curious to note those grass types that are similar and different to those in Colorado. I expect to find many types of grasses. I hope to not find some of it's tenants, ie. Rattle Snake!

I don't want to see any rattlesnakes either. Fortunately, I've only seen one in all my years of doing this.
I also don't want to see a mountain lion though I wouldn't mind seeing an old track.
